HOLY WATER FONT
The object was created as a result of a long-term study of Baroque Gothic buildings and architecture created under the hands of architect Jan Blažej Santini Aichel. In response to his work, an object at the boundary between free and applied art was created. It is loosely connected to the central plan of the Chapel of St. Anne in Panenské Břežany where it serves as a holy water font. The drip tray in the space serves not only for the administration of holy water, but above all it harmonizes with the space and becomes a mediator in the communication between man and architecture. It is meant to recall the beauty and dignity of Baroque Gothic buildings and to pay tribute to the genius of Santini.
This object was presented on the occasion of the visit of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala to the United States of America on 14-16 April 2024 as a gift to the American President Joe Biden.
