PIEDESTALS

Hanging pedestals show the beauty of architecture and geometry. The details of the buildings, taken out of the context of the building, are the main motif to be drawn attention to in these works. However, the statues of saints that we sit under and admire in the church also have something to stand on. They stand on a beautifully sculpted pedestal, which, however, receives little attention. In these objects, reality is reversed, and the statue is suggested here in a very abstract way by means of an ampoule, sticks, or mere texture on glass. The absence of figurative sculpture gives the opportunity to show the beauty of the architecture and its details.
